Supporting Local Photographers

There are many ways for you to support your local photographers. From booking photoshoots to buying prints. Supporting your local photographers is one of the best ways to help them grow.

Photography isn’t a high paying field. Because of this, many photographers use multiple streams of income. Some wedding photographers will also do videography, prints and more. I for example offer photoshoots + prints, as well as scenic canvas prints, puzzles and more, through my new Etsy Shop.

Etsy

If you haven’t heard of Etsy before, Etsy is a great platform designed to help small businesses, like me, to grow and sell online. There are many well known alternatives to Etsy such as Shopify. However, Etsy takes the lead by far.

How My Etsy Shop Works

When you purchase a product from my Etsy shop, a service I use called “Printify” will then fulfill your order. Printify takes care of all the steps necessary to get you your order. From printing, writing thank you cards, to shipping.

Printify takes a small commission + cost of goods sold. Alongside Printify, Etsy also takes a small commission, so does the funds payout (Stripe). Overall, there are a lot of fees involved with each order.

Next time you see a small business and think “they are charging a lot for a single canvas”, now you know why. However, without these services, it would simply be impossible for any small business to run an online store.
